The Congress has demanded rehabilitation for slum
dwellers at WRS area. In this connection, a delegation of Congress members led
by MLA Kuldeep Juneja submitted a memorandum to Chief Minister Raman Singh at
his residential office on February 6. The delegation informed that the slum
dwellers were living in about eight hectare Railway land. They said either the
Railways should provide the land to the residents at the rate of Rs 11 per
square foot or transfer the entire land to the state government under a certain
pact. The delegation requested the CM to put the matter before Union Railway
Minister Dinesh Trivedi on Wednesday during his maiden state visit.
