CM sought industrial corridor to benefit industrialists: Cong

Raipur, February 10, 2012

The Congress has alleged that Chief Minister Raman Singh sought industrial corridor from Union Railway Minister Dinesh Trivedi to benefit industrialists. “This corridor will only benefit mining companies, not the common people,” said chief Congress spokesperson Shailesh Nitin Trivedi on Friday.
“The Railway Minister rather wanted to discuss with the CM about his ministry run Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation of India Limited (DFCCIL) so that Chhattisgarh could have been be linked comprehensively with it. However, the CM was satisfied with industrial corridor and did not forget to claim it as state government’s major achievement. But this industrial corridor too would be the part of DFCCIL under which 3300 kilometer long rail corridor would be formed at an estimated cost of Rs one lakh crore for coal and mineral producing states,” Trivedi said.
“The CM completely ignored rail expansion services in the state and only concentrated in getting sop for the industrialists from the Railway Minster. Through the industrial corridor, the CM intends to provide the industrialists the most economical mode of transportation of minerals from Chhattisgarh to other parts of the country,” he alleged.
