Former chief minister and senior Congress legislator
Ajit Jogi on Tuesday held state government responsible for brutal killing of
two jawans and five villagers in naxal janadalats recently. “The government
deserves the blame as it has completely failed to check rising Maoism in the
state,” said Jogi.
“The Centre provides sufficient fund for modernisation
of police stations in naxal-infested areas but the state does not seem spending
it properly as the locals still feel insecure,” he said.
He suggested that the government, besides bolstering
its security system, must also take hold ‘peace talks’ with the Maoists to
check killing of the innocent people.
