Congress has completed its preparations to hold workers’ meeting in newly formed Sukma district on Wednesday. The meeting will be attended by AICC general secretary and incharge of state Congress BK Hariprasada, PCC president Nandkumar Patel, CLP leader Ravindra Choubey, senior party leader Vidyacharan Shukla, chairman of Congress monitoring committee Arvind Netam and former leader of the opposition at Vidhan Sabha Mahendra Karma.
The PCC spokesperson Sushil Anand Shukla informed that Hariprasada will reach Raipur from New Delhi on Wednesday morning through regular flight. Patel and Choubey will welcome him at Swami Vivekanand Airport from where the trio will leave for Sukma via helicopter.
Shukla informed that the senior party leaders had held frequent block-level meetings at Sukma in the recent past to ensure more number of workers’ turnout at the meeting. “The senior leaders are making the workers of Konta, Sukma, Dornapal and Chhindgarh acquainted about the party’s mission 2013 and 2014 agenda,” Shukla said.
He said the party workers had lodged several complaints to the senior leadership through their DCC presidents against the government’s inactivity in the tribal populated region, especially rural pockets. “Hence they too are eagerly waiting for the meeting as they will get instruction from the party brasses about their future activities,” said Shukla.
He informed that PCC vice president Kawasi Lakhma, party’s chief spokesperson Shailesh Nitin Trivedi and DCC Sukma president Karan Dev along with local leaders jointly inspected progress of meeting’s preparations on Tuesday.
The meeting will be also be attended by the presidents of all DCCs and state office-bearers of Bastar division.
