Cong demands murder offence into custodial death

Raipur, February 22, 2012

Congress on Wednesday demanded murder offence into one Santosh Daharia’s death in police custody. The party also asked the government to conduct judicial inquiry into the matter.
PCC president Nandkumar Patel and CLP leader Ravindra Choubey said that law and order in the state had worsened under ruling BJP’s regime. While several criminals are committing crime fearlessly in the state, the gangsters are operating their illegal business even behind the bars, they added.
“Crime rate has shot in the state. The capital has witnessed more than dozen murder cases in past one month. Half of the state’s districts are reeling under naxal terror while the remaining districts have become safe operational areas for the criminals,” they said.
