The Congress leadership has doubled the expenditure
budget of PCC from January 2012. The major reason behind this favour is said to
be the trust of the high command on new state unit chief Nandkumar Patel who has
almost succeeded in achieving the party’s primary goal of bringing all the
factions under one umbrella and posing threat to the ruling BJP as a
consolidated unit.
The Central leadership has also hinted Patel that
there would not be scarcity of resources for the party’s mission 2013.
According to information, the high command is
satisfied with Patel’s performance as a state unit head. In fact, the Congress
has conducted survey of the party’s performance in some of the states and discovered
surprising results. While it finds that the party has weakened in Madhya
Pradesh in last couple of years and needs hard work to get back to rhythm, it
is hoping to regain power in Chhattisgarh after ten years of exile considering
intense activities of the workers.
Sources informed that while giving baton of
Chhattisgarh Congress to Patel the high command had entrusted him significant
assignment of reducing gap between the different factions and ensuring
everyone’s participation in party activities. Patel has somewhat cleared the
initial test, although some of the leaders are still among the list of
dissenters in the party.
