66000 MT iodised salt, 43380 MT sugar allocated

The state government has allocated 66000 MT iodised salt and 43380 MT sugar for impoverished class of the state under public distribution system (PDS) for July 2012. The government is distributing two kg iodised salt free-of-cost to the beneficiaries under its Mukhyamantri Khadyann Sahayata Yojna. Similarly, the sugar would be distributed to the people living below poverty like (BPL) under public distribution system.
The iodised salt and sugar would be provided to the eligible beneficiaries from more than 10500 fair price shops across the state, informed the officials of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection Department on Saturday.
The highest amount of iodised salt and sugar has been allocated to Raipur district i.e. 3834 MT iodised salt and 2492 MT sugar.
