Raipur North legislator Kuldeep Singh Juneja has demanded rehabilitation package for rain-hit slum dweller of his Assembly constituency. In this connection, he has written a letter to Collector Dr Rohit Yadav on Monday.
He wrote that the heavy downpour on July 21, 2012 caused havoc in the low lying areas of his Vidhan Sabha area as the shanties of the poor were completely destroyed.
“Presently, the rain-hit slum dwellers neither have shelter nor food. Hence, the district administration must make arrangement of meals for them and rehabilitate them,” he said.
Besides, he added, that the majority of roads in his constituency got damaged due to heavy showers eventually causing inconvenience to the commuters, especially during night hours. He said the damaged roads should be quickly repaired to avert any mishap.
