Ambedkar hospital to blacklist medicine supplier

The Ambedkar hospital administration will soon blacklist medicine supplier for failing to meet the requisite demand. Health Minister Amar Agrawal issued necessary instructions to hospital superintendent Dr Vivek Choudhary in this regard during the review meeting of the autonomous body of Raipur Medical College on Saturday.
Agrawal asked Choudhary to ensure regular supply of medicines in Ambedkar hospital pointing that the government provides adequate budget for the purpose.
He directed officials of Food and Drug Administration to take action against the medicine supplier under Essential Commodities Act.  
He said sanitation in the hospital should be at par and if needed sanitation works should be outsourced. To meet the norms of Medical Council of India (MCI) Agrawal asked officials to send proposal for necessary amendment in the setup of hospital and medical college.
He said separate fund for claimed amount under Rashtriya Swasthya Bima Yojna (RSBY) should be made. He said asked the hospital administration to ensure obtaining maximum claim against the treatment done under RSBY so that the funds received could be utilised in enhancing health facilities for the patients.
Choudhary informed him that the hospital would soon have a couple of haemodialysis machines considering large number of relevant patients arriving for the treatment everyday. The machines will be purchased by Health Directorate.
Choudhary further also informed that nine patients had been treated through stem cell therapy and the results had been positive.
Agrawal instructed that new digital subtraction angiography (DSA) machine purchased for the hospital should be started quickly. Besides, he said the Ayushman Endosurgery Centre too must open in one and a half month.
To purchase computerised radiography cassettes Agrawal approved Rs 30 lakh while decision was taken to take a rented residential building near medical college considering limited capacity of girls’ hostel.
The Health department will also appoint an administrative officer in the hospital to coordinate with the department and ensure fast completion of all the non-medial works.
The meeting was attended by Principal Secretary Health and Family Welfare Ajay Singh, Director Medical Education Dr Subir Mukherjee, medical college dean Dr AK Sharma, etc.
