Toll plaza issue: Cong stages dharna at Santoshi Nagar

Continuing its protest against proposed toll plaza site near Sundar Nagar at Ring Road No 1the Congress on Saturday staged dharna at Santoshi Nagar.

Addressing the dharna participants, DCC Raipur Urban President Inderchand Dhariwal alleged that the PWD Minister Brijmohan Agrawal wanted the toll plaza to be built in its proposed site because his closer ones are involved in it.

He said nowhere in the country had any toll plaza been constructed within municipal limits. “Raipur is the exception and ironically the PWD Minister too is supporting the construction agency,” he said.

On the occasion, about 1155 local residents wrote post cards protesting construction of toll plaza in the vicinity of Sundar Nagar.

“The residents have even warned the PWD Minister that if can be adamant on toll plaza site and ignore the public sentiment then they too would ensure his defeat in next Assembly polls from Raipur South Assembly constituency,” said Dhariwal.

The party will stage dharna from 3-6 pm at Rajendra Nagar chowk on July 23, he informed.

On the occasion were present Kadar Bhai, Rahul Thakur, Iqbal Bhai, Pramod Dubey, Satnam Singh Panag, Kanhaiyya Agrawal, Sachin Golechha, Dilip Agrawal, Amit Das, etc along with large number of local residents.
