CD row: Yadav suspended, show cause notice to Subodh

Raipur, July 09, 2012

The NSUI’s national leadership on Monday suspended organisation’s state unit president Devendra Yadav with an immediate effect on the basis of probe report submitted by two-member committee into controversial CD allegedly featuring him demanding money from a businessman for Rahul Gandhi event at Raipur. The national leadership has also shot show cause notice on NSUI state vice president Subodh Haritwal for his alleged involvement into the matter.
The announcement of Yadav’s suspension and show cause notice to Haritwal was made by organisation’s national secretary and state incharge Maheshmurti Leni Sahebrao Jadhav.
Notably, Yadav had tendered his resignation to NSUI national president Rohit Choudhary ten days back on June 29. However, Choudhary, instead of accepting his resignation, had instituted two-member committee to investigate into the matter.
The panel members - NSUI’s national general secretary Bhushan Penchalwar and Punjab Congress legislator Kuldeep Nagra had visited Raipur on July 5 to take stance of Yadav and others.
When contacted, Yadav said he got the report of his suspension but was yet to receive formal letter from the national leadership. “I accept it and would continue to work as an ordinary member of the organisation,” he said.
He, however, added that he was not surprised by show cause notice to Subodh Haritwal. “This was expected and I am looking forward to see few more faces who abetted him in attempting to tarnish my image through fake CD,” he said.
Haritwal, on the other hand, said he was ready to put his stance before the national leadership once he would receive show cause notice.
