Cong slams CM on Collectors’ jandarshan

Raipur, July 24, 2012

Hitting at Chief Minister Raman Singh for directing Collectors to organise jandarshan the Congress said circumstances occurred because the government machinery failed to redress public grievances.
“The government officials would never need to conduct jandarshan if they would serve people sincerely during their job tenure. The CM has rather started a new trend through Collectors’ jandarshan which proves that its administrative system has become ineffective,” said Congress spokesperson Sushil Anand Shukla on Tuesday.
“For public convenience, decentralisation has been done in administration structure from district administration to tehsil, sub-tehsil, revenue inspector (RI) circle and patwari halka. Similarly, development blocks and gram secretariats have been established. The government has appointed capable officials and employees in all these offices. Now, the CM should clarify why these staffers are unable to redress public grievances,” Shukla asked.
He pointed that the government had even failed to take action on complaints and applications it received during recent as well as last year’s gram suraj abhiyans.
“The BJP government has actually finished the work culture in last eight years and administrative anarchy has gripped the entire state. Even the officials have stopped taking interest in taking initiatives in public welfare works due to frequent interventions of BJPians,” he said.
“Perhaps the BJP’s Raipur parliamentarian Ramesh Bais too has realised the problems of the people and hence he announced to organise jandarshan at his constituency-level,” he ridiculed.
He claimed that the people were upset with the BJP government’s work and wanted to get rid of it.
