Alleging that the government had failed to curb crime in the state the Youth Congress (YC) members burnt an effigy of Home Minister Nankiram Kanwar at Budhapara-based dharna spot on Saturday.
“The people are living in terror due to rising crime. The incidents like thefts, dacoity, murder and rape have become an order of the day in the state. The criminals are committing crime fearlessly under the nose of the police. The law and order is in haywire,” said the YC Raipur North general secretary Dilip Singh Chouhan.
He said that while the cops were engaged in VIP security the common people had to live in insecure environment.
While burning the HM’s effigy, Chouhan was accompanied by Sheikh Shakeel, Azhar Rahman, Bablu Raza, Shahrukh, Anil Yadav, Wasim Quasif, Ujjwal, Gaurav, Imran, Nawab, Ashish Nand, Vishnu Sharma, Mahesh Kankerwal, Saif, Rajesh, etc.
