Protesting hike in prices of text books (both English and Hindi mediums) from class 1st to 12th, the NSUI members gheraoed the Chhattisgarh Text Book Corporation (CTBC) on Wednesday.
On the occasion, they also handed over memorandum to the corporation’s MD and warned him of launching aggressive agitation in the CTBC premises if the prices of the text books would not be lowered in next seven days.
The NSUI Raipur district president Pradeep Sahu informed that the corporation had increased the prices of the text books from Rs 20-100.
“This is an inordinate hike and aimed to make profit by denting pockets of the people whose children are studying in schools affiliated to state board,” he said.
On Wednesday’s demonstration, Sahu was accompanied by the NSUI members Ravi Sen, Ajay Pal, Mahesh Yadav, Rajesh Nishad, Sandeep Thakur, Tarun Soni, Prem Dubey, Shailesh Hiranwar, Mukesh Verma, Taresh Sahu, Pankaj Thakur, Vicky Pandey, Manish Yadav, Tarachand Mishra, etc.
