Nominations for NCAEA invited till July 20

The Women and Child Development Department has invited nominations for National Child Award for Exceptional Achievement (NCAEA) from all district Collectors till July 20. The NCAEA is given annually to the exceptionally talented children by Union Women and Child Development Department.
The officials informed that the NCAEA was instituted back in 1996 with an objective to give recognition to the children with exceptional abilities and who have achieved outstanding status in various fields including academics, arts, culture and sports etc.
The exceptionally talented children between 4 to 15 years of age are eligible for national child award.
Under NCAEA, one gold medal and 35 silver medals (one for each State/UT) are given, the officials said.
The winner of the gold medal also receives a cash prize of Rs 20000, a citation and certificates. Similarly, the silver medal winners receive cash prize of Rs 10000 each besides citation and certificate. 
The officials informed that the applications should mandatorily come through Collectors. The state government will then recommend these applications to the selection committee at Centre, they added.
