The NSUI’s two-member probe committee on
Thursday recorded Devendra Yadav’ statement into his controversial CD issue
that had eventually compelled him to tender resignation. The panel members held
talks with Yadav at Congress Bhawan and took his statement in written.
“I was interrogated for about 15-20 minutes. I put my
stance and demanded forensic test on audio and video clippings of the CD,” said
Yadav after meeting the probe panel members.
Earlier, both the panel members – NSUI’s national
general secretary Bhushan Penchalwar and party’s Punjab legislator Kuldeep
Nagra reached Raipur
on Thursday morning.
Notably, the two have been assigned task by the organisation’s
national head Rohit Choudhary to elicit facts behind the controversial CD that allegedly
shows Yadav demanding fund from a businessman for an event of Rahul Gandhi at Raipur .
The panel members spent about three hours (from 12-3
pm) at Congress Bhawan and talked to several NSUI and PCC leaders besides
Yadav.
They also held talks with PCC president Nandkumar
Patel and CLP leader Ravindra Choubey pertaining to the matter. Since Patel has
been to his hometown, the panel members talked to him over phone while met
Choubey at his residence.
According to information, the panel members reportedly
sought information from Patel and Choubey about the state NSUI functioning and regarding
specific faction’s predominance in the organisation.
Since Yadav has already said that his organisational
rivals had brought forth the fake CD to malign him, the probe panel is likely
to take into serious consideration the ‘predominant faction factor’ in state
unit.
The panel members also talked to Mova police where
Naim Siddiqui had lodged complaint of loot against Yadav. They collected
information regarding CD from the police and learnt that Siddiqui was
disappearing ever since he had lodged report. The police told the panel members
that they had even summoned Siddiqui to record his statement but he did not
turn up.
The panel members returned to New Delhi on Thursday evening. They are
likely to submit their report in three days to the NSUI national chief.
