Govt performance weak in many districts: Jogi

Raipur, July 07, 2012

Senior Congress legislator Ajit Jogi on Saturday said that Chief Secretary’s review meeting with Collectors exposed the government’s functioning as it was found that its performance in many districts including naxal-infested regions was weak.
“This proves that Chief Minister Raman Singh and his ministers merely make tall claims but the practical reality is startling. Development is missing in majority of the districts and there is lack of synchronisation between the government and the local administrations,” Jogi said.
He advised the CM and state ministers to spend more time in the districts lacking basic development. “They conduct aerial inspection of the districts but such methods would not help them understanding actual problems prevailing in such regions. For this, they should stay in specific districts and interact with the locals to know what they want,” he said.
“Considering Assembly elections to be held next year, the CM is trying to mislead people on pretext of review meetings pertaining to development of districts. However, the people have realised that they have been cheated twice. Hence, now they are alert and ready to teach lesson to the incumbent government in upcoming polls,” he added.
