Congress has demanded from district administration and Excise department to prohibit liquor sale on the occasion of Eid Milad-un-Nabi on February 5. In this connection, the DCC Raipur Urban spokesperson Sheikh Shakeel and other party workers submitted memorandums to Collector Dr Rohit Yadav and Excise Commissioner Ganesh Shankar Mishra separately on Tuesday. The Congress workers further demanded blanket ban on illegal sale of liquor, especially in dhabas located in the outskirts of the city. Shakeel informed that the party would also submit memorandums to Chief Minister and Excise Minister regarding closure of liquor shops on Eid Milad-un-Nabi.
