The discriminatory attitude of NIT Director Shashi Krishna Pandey could be easily comprehended with her decision to implement VIth Pay Commission for the teaching and non-teaching staff of the institute. Where, she has raised the salaries of teaching faculty by 46 percent, the Grade III and IV got an increment only up to 30 percent.
Although, it was unanimously recommended to raise the pay scale of all the teaching and non-teaching in the finance meeting followed by the Board of Governors (BOG) meeting that held in October 14, 2009. However, Pandey had her own plans for each grade of officials and employees regarding salary increment.
Learning about a number of irregularities prevailed in the institute, the BOG Chairman Lalit Surjan had reportedly advised Pandey to constitute a grievance redressal cell almost a month back, but she seemed least bothered about the NIT staff owing to which she has refrained to form any such cell.
The same is happening in NIT puducherry too. All the students and staff are suffering because of her.
