Now, RMC has decided to adopt modern technique to collect revenue for which it has done an agreement with Axis bank through which people can pay their property tax. For this, the bank will install special software that will quickly update the data of municipal’s Revenue data once the customer pays his property tax.
Urban Administration Minister Rajesh Munat will inaugurate RMC’s computerised tax paying process at Axis bank’s Tatibandh branch on February 4, 2010 in presence of Mayor Kiranmayi Nayak, Speaker Sanjay Shrivastava and other municipal officials.
The RMC ‘s Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) GS Kshatriya informed that initially these service would be available in the Axis bank’s Tatibandh branch for two Zones 5 and 8 and gradually facility would be commenced in other Zones.
Concerned with falling revenue collection even in the last quarter of this fiscal, the RMC made up its mind to take a modern approach to inflate its exchequer. Notably, to meet its yearly revenue target, the RMC conducts revenue camps in all the wards at the fag end of the financial year. Still, a number of people don’t pay their taxes for years. For such people, the municipal makes special announcement for final settlement.
