To encourage blood donation, Red Cross Society has come up with a unique scheme under which if any organisation provides 25 unit (approximately 450 ml) blood to the society by conducting voluntary blood donation camps then the latter can get one unit blood free within an year. For this, the society will give a token to the blood donating organisation so that it could avail the benefit of the scheme in next 12 months. This scheme has come into effect from January 1, 2010. In this regard, the society’s state branch has issued directives to the officer of Red Cross blood bank at Raipur Medical College.
