The CSASC officials informed that they had been taking support of self help organisation in launching AIDS awareness drives in the past but soon AIDS mitan would be playing key role in such campaigns. The society had selected Bilaspur district in its pilot project and have already trained 135 salon operators, the officials further informed. The training programme would comprise of comprehensive information about AIDS and tips to prevent its occurrence. The people taking training will also receive literature and pamphlets regarding treatment facilities of the disease. The society has also made a provision of paying some cash amount to the salon operators, paanwallas and dhaba owners if they would send the HIV positive patients to the AIDS counselors.
