While launching computerised revenue collection system
Raipur, February 04, 2010
Computers have become intact part of modern-day lifestyle and people want to know everything in one click of mouse. Considering this, the Raipur Municipal Corporation (RMC) has commenced computerised revenue collection system through Axis bank with an aim to provide people an easy option to pay their property tax. The words appreciation were expressed by Urban Administration Minister Rajesh Munat while he launched the RMC’s new tax paying method at Axis bank’s Tatibandh branch on Thursday.
“Our government is committed to modernise all the civic bodies of the state and to ensure prevalence of paperless system resolves people’s problems rapidly,” said Munat.
“The normal method of tax collection system is very complicated in which the RMC staff go to each and every house to remind people about the last date of tax payment. In this process, it is very difficult to meet every tax payer. Hopefully, the computerised revenue collection system would increase the RMC’s exchequer as more number of tax payers would take benefit of this facility,” said Munat.
The minister also hoped that every ward’s detailed data in the municipal’s official website would also help the corporators and public representatives to develop their locality in proper manner.
Presently, this tax paying facility is available for the residents of Zone 5 and 8, but soon it will be launched in other six zones, informed RMC Commissioner Om Prakash Choudhary. On the occasion, RMC Speaker Sanjay Shrivastava, Amit Das from municipal’s Revenue department and other officials were present.
