International Buddhist Convention on February 6

The 17th international Buddhist convention will be organised from February 6 at Pragyagiri hills at Dongargarh. Vivek Vasnik, president of Buddhist organisation’s Dongargarh branch informed that participants from all over the world would participate in the convention.  Nyko Nishioka and Khosho Tani from Japan, Lobgan from Tibet, Sangrakshit from Secunderabad, N Anand from Sri Lanka, Pragyadeep from Bodhgaya, Rangshak from Thailand, Satyasheel, Gyadeep and Nagdipankar from Nagpur, All India Bhikshu Association members and heads would participate in the programme.  The programme would start at 10 am at Buddha Vihar with prayer. Dongargarh MLA Ramji Bharti MLA, Dhiraj Meshram, Chairman Municipal Council Dongargarh and Rajnandgaon’s eye specialist Dr Vijay Uikey would be the special guests on the occasion. Vasnik informed that Sanghratna Manke will also lay foundation stone for yoga and vipasyana meditation centre for which a piece of land has been reserved in Dongargarh.


174 contract appointment

State government has appointed 174 grade-III training officers for its Industrial training Institutes (ITI) on contractual basis. The Directorate of Employment and Training has issued directives in this regard. The contract would be for one year. During this, period the salary of these training officers will be Rs 9120 per month. The list of candidates is also available in the official website of Directorate Public Relations.


Rabi crops

In the current Rabi season, the farmers have completed sowing process in over 15.15 lakh hectares of land. The officials from Agriculture department informed that the grains have been sown in over 2 .36 lakh hectares of land, pulses in 8.22 lakh hectare and oilseeds in over 2.83 lakh hectares. The state government so far achieved about 85 percent of its yearly target of cultivation in 17.90 lakh hectares of land. The officials further informed that this year quantum of pulses and oilseeds has been increased. They said the situation of all the crops and pulses this year was satisfactory. The officials said the farmers should keep an eye on their crops and must promptly inform to the Agriculture department if the crops get infected by any disease or insects for timely treatment.  State government has asked all the ground staff to give technical information to farmers.
