Kidwai gives Rs 15 lakh to RMC from MP quota

Mayor Kiranmayi Nayak on Wednesday informed that the Rajya Sabha MP Mohsina Kidwai had given Rs 15 lakh to the RMC under Member of Parliament Local Area Development Scheme (MPLADS) to purchase hand fogging machines. In this regard, Kidwai sent a letter to Collector Sanjay Garg on March 19. Nayak informed that she too had received the copy of the letter from Kidwai through fax on Wednesday.
Notably, Nayak had requested Kidwai during her Delhi visit in January-February 2010 to provide special fund for RMC from her MP quota. Kidwai advised Nayak to prepare a project to get approval for the fund. Considering mosquito menace in the capital, Nayak directed the municipal officials to prepare a project on hand fogging machines. The project was sent to Kidwai for approval on March 3. Accepting the project, she has sanctioned Rs 15 lakh for RMC, Nayak said.
In her letter, Kidwai has asked the Collector to scrutinise the technical, financial and administrative aspects of the proposed hand fogging machine project by the RMC within 45 days of receipt of the letter. She said that the sanctioned work should be completed quickly as per the provisions of MPLADS. She further said that if the recommended work would be found non-eligible and if the sanction would be delayed beyond 45 days, she should be intimated about the reasons for delay.
Nayak informed that the RMC would call open tender to purchase hand fogging machines. “The cost of one hand fogging machine ranges from Rs 45000 to 60,000. Before purchasing, we will first ensure the quality and utility factor of the hand fogging machines,” she said.
Kidwai has also forwarded the copy of letter to Minister of State for Coal, Statistics & Programme Implementation Sriprakash Jaiswal, Chhattisgarh Pradesh Congress Committee president Dhanendra Sahu, RMC Commissioner Om Prakash Choudhary and her representative Prashant Sharma.

 
No leave for officials, employees

Raipur, March 24, 2010 

Collector Sanjay Garg has informed that the officials and employees could not take leave during Gram Suraj campaign. Garg informed that officials and employees would not be allowed to leave headquarters during the campaign. However, in case of specific conditions, the leave applications would not be rejected, he added. The campaign will begin in two phases – first from April 12-16 and second from April 19-23.


Industrial development training from March 29

Raipur, March 24, 2010  

The District Industrial Centre (DIC) will organise the four-week free-of-cost industrial development training programme at Boudh Vihar, Old Rajendra Nagar from March 29, 2010. The DIC’s General Manager informed that the experts would inform the participants about the methods to search and select suitable industry, to prepare basic work-plan, market management, finance management, creativity, to redress the emerging problems and about loan application format. The expert will also give significant inputs about qualities of industrialists, importance of industries and detailed information about relevant organisations to the participants during training programme. The eligibility criteria for participating in the programme are - class VIII passed, age 18-35 years, must be resident of Raipur district and no bank loan or any other loan amount should be outstanding against the applicant or his family members. The candidates will be selected on the basis of application and interview. The candidates would have to appear in interview on March 27 at DIC office at 11 am.

CM attends Hanuman Chalisa Mahapath

Chief Minister Raman Singh on Wednesday evening attended the Hanuman Chalisa Mahapath organised at Sports Complex, Budhapara on the occasion of Ramnavmi. The Mahapath was done by Pt Vijayshankar Mehta.
On the occasion, Singh said that the aim of Mahapath was to spread the devotion of Hanuman towards lord Ram and its effects in human life. “We all can surmount negative powers following the paths paved by Hanuman and lord Ram,” Singh said.  “Presently, the state is struggling with the naxal problem, but I hope that the philosophy of Hanuman and Ram’s life will guide us to fight and win against such extremists,” Singh added.
Greeting people on the occasion of Ramnavmi, Tourism and Culture Minister Brijmohan Agrawal informed that the 1.25 crore jaap on birth anniversary of lord Ram commenced from Raipur. The programme organised by Jeevan Prabandhan Samuh and Shree Hanuman Mahapath was also attended by MLA Ramsundar Das, MLA Kuldeep Juneja, Mayor Kiranmayi Nayak, RMC Speaker Sanjay Shrivastava and a large number of devotees.

 
IAF beckons state’s young graduates

Screening on March 26 at GEC, Sejbahar

Indian Air Force (IAF) is on recruitment drive and is planning to induct large number of young graduates. In this regard, the IAF will conduct screening test at Government Engineering College (GEC), Sejbahar on March 26.
The Wing Commander of the Third Chhattisgarh Air Squadron NCC office informed that the screening test would comprise of general knowledge, and multiple choice questions in English language. The result of the screening test would be declared on the same day. Those who would clear the screening test would have to appear in picker perception test and discussion test (Phase-I) that would either be conducted on March 26 or on the following day.
The IAF officials would check the documents of the candidates pertaining to educational qualification after they would clear the Phase I of selection process. Later, these candidates would receive a call letter from either of the Air Force Selection Boards based at Dehradoon, Mysore or Varanasi to appear in the Phase II test.
The interested candidates can apply for Fast Track Selection (FTS) process by submitting their applications and getting registered at the GEC. The registration would be done from 8-11 am on March 26. The candidates can also submit their applications to the Third Chhattisgarh Air Squadron NCC office at Sundar Nagar, Mahadev Ghat Road, Raipur. Besides, the format of the application can be also downloaded from the IAF’s official website – www.careerairforce.nic.in.
The applicant should be within the age of 19-23 years on July 1, 2010 and he should be unmarried, must have cleared his three-year graduation in any subject or four-year graduation in engineering with at least sixty percent marks in all the subjects.  The applicant should also have passed 10+2 examinations in mathematics and physics as a regular school student.

Applications for child award till March 26

Applications for National Child Award for Exceptional Achievement can be submitted till March 26. The Women and Child Development department officials and the District Programme Officer jointly informed that the award would be given to the children within 4-15 years of age for their excellent and exceptional achievement in any of the fields including education, arts, culture, sports, etc. The officials informed that the outstanding child would receive a gold medal, citation and Rs 20,000 cash award by Union Women and Child Development department. Similarly, the winner of silver medal would receive a citation and Rs 10,000 cash award.


Ayush Health Mela today

Raipur, March 24, 2010 

The district Ayurveda officers will organise a day-long Ayush Health Mela (AHM) in village Sunderkera on Thursday. The officials have appealed from the villagers to take the benefit of the mela in large number. Another AHM was organised by the district Ayurveda officers at Ravabhatha recently in which the experts check-up about 1971 patients. In the mela, the officials also distributed free medicines to the patients. This mela was inaugurated by Gau Sewa Ayog member Haribhai Joshi. According to information, the experts gave information about various diseases to the patients apart from informing them about the household treatment methods and preventive measures.


Eye camp extended till March 26

The massive eye camp organised under the joint aegis of district administration, Red Cross Society and Blindness Prevention Committee (BPC) has so far benefited over 1000 poor. The camp has been organised for cataract operation and lens transplantation. Considering flooding patients at camp, Collector Sanjay Garg has directed to extend the camp till March 26. The BPC secretary Dr Subhash Mishra informed that the camp succeed owing to the support of voluntary organisations and private medical practitioners. About 536 cataract operations and lens transplantations were done in Ayurvedic hospital while 218 patients were benefited at Medical College Hospital Raipur, he informed. Besides, the private medical practitioners operated 415 patients, he said.
