RMC removes two temples



Raipur, February 25, 2010

RMC on Thursday removed two temples from the main road at Railway station. The municipal Commissioner Om Prakash Choudhary informed that the action was taken according to directives of Supreme Court. The temples were removed in presence of Town Planner Sandeep Bagde, Tehsildar Gajpal, Nayab tehsildar Pulak Bhattacharya, etc.


Mayor assures sanitation staff to provide houses

Under Basic Services for Urban Poor scheme

Mayor Kiranmayi Nayak has assured the municipal’s sanitation staff to provide houses under Basic Services for Urban Poor (BSUP) scheme. Nayak’s assurance came while she was interacting with the sanitation staff here at Shaheed Smarak Bhwan on Thursday.
Nayak promised the sanitation staff that she would try to start pension scheme for them. Besides, she said if the sanitation staff would discharge their responsibility sincerely from 7 am to 12 pm everyday for a month then she would certainly take initiative to implement VIth pay-scale for them after reviewing their works.
Nayak also asked the sanitation staff to give their suggestions on the basis of their field experience to improve the system. For this, a suggestion and complaint box has been kept in the municipal office, she informed.
She promised that there would not be communication gap between the RMC administration and sanitation staff.
She informed that the municipal had prepared ward-wise lists of sanitation staff and their works would be monitored by the officials on daily basis. She made it evident that the RMC would not hesitate in taking action against the irresponsible staff members.
Nayak further said the sanitation staff need not fear anybody and should sincerely focus on their work.
