BJP calls Chhattisgarh bandh against inflation today

Raipur, February 12, 2010

BJP has called state bandh on Saturday holding the UPA government at Centre responsible for the inflation country. The party’s state president Vishnudeo said the BJP had been attempting for a long time to draw the attention of the UPA government towards price rise but Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and his cabinet ministers failed to comfort the common man.
Ridiculing the UPA government for its inability to control its Union ministers, Sai questioned how would the Centre bring down prices when its ministers were entangled in blamegame against each other on inflation. He also termed the protests of the state Congress against price rise as mere drama and vain attempt to hide the Centre’s fault.
Sai claimed that the chambers of commerce of all the districts, various social and business organisations and common mass had assured to give their complete support to the bandh called by the BJP.
Sai alleged that in spite of inflation, the UPA government was planning to hike the prices of a number of daily-use items which would not be brooked. “It is really surprising that the Centre has surrendered to a handful of illegal stockists,” he further charged.
Sai raised his doubts whether the country was actually facing inflation or the Centre had ulterior motives to gulp the people’s hard earned money by creating fake environment of price rise. He further held Centre responsible for shortage of food grains in the country in this fiscal. He said the BJP would continue it protests against the Centre till the prices declines to normal.
