This year, people can buy all the materials related to Holi festival from a market that would be specially established by the RMC besides the vacant place near Motibagh. The municipal has decided to set up this marker temporarily with an aim to ease out excess traffic pressure from the main roads of the city as well as from the busy commercial areas during Holi.
The RMC Commissioner Om Prakash Choudhary informed that several makeshift shops with an area of 8 x 10 square feet each will be raised besides Motibagh. The vacant place is usually being used for organising trade fares and Jagar. The municipal will charge Rs 2 per square feet per day from each shopkeeper. The RMC will commence allotment of these shops from February 18, 2010.
Choudhary has categorically said that the makeshift shops were raised for public convenience. However, if any shopkeeper would prefer selling Holi related items in any other area, especially in busy market places, then his saleable materials would be seized by the RMC. For this, the municipal would launch a special campaign against such shopkeepers after February 18.
