RMC removes 17 illegal shops

The RMC on Thursday removed 17 illegal shops including seven meat shops from Amapara main road near vegetable market. The RMC also imposed fine of Rs 3500 on those vendors who had encroached road by illegally occupying road for their business. The action was taken by the staffers of RMC’s Town Planning and Building Permission department Town Planner Sandeep Bagde and Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) GS Khsatriya. The municipal officials informed that these shops were hampering the traffic at Amapara main road for a long time.


Meritorious students felicitated

Pt Madhavrao Sapre Higher Secondary School felicitated its meritorious students with medals and certificates on its annual function and prize distribution day on Thursday. The prizes were distributed by president of RMC’s Education department Deenbandu Singh Thakur. The students who won medals for their outstanding performance in studies were Govind Narayan Sahu – Class XIIth, Rahul Sharma – Class XIth, Avinash Mehar – Class Xth and Uttan and Karan – Class IXth. Thakur also gave prizes to those students who won titles in various curricular activities including sports and cultural programs at district, state and national levels. On the occasion, the school principal MK Varu gave tips to the students on distressing techniques during studies.  


Government following Pt Upadhyay’s Antyodaya policy: CM

The thoughts of Pt Deendayal Upadhyay have given new direction and dimension to our society. If we want to benefit each and every individual of the society then we would have to follow Upadhyay’s Antyodaya policies in our life. Chief Minister Raman Singh expressed these words while paying tribute to Upadhyay on his death anniversary at Telebandha Ring Road Chowk on Thursday. After garlanding Upadhyay’s statue, Singh informed that the state government was already following Upadhyay’s steps and had launched Antyodaya schemes to benefit the financially poor section of the society.
On the occasion, Urban Administration Minister Rajesh Munat, RMC Speaker Sanjay Shrivastava and former chairman of Chhattisgarh State Beverage Corporation Sachchidanand Upasne also appealed from the people to take inspiration from Upadhyay’s human-oriented policies.
The other people present on the occasion were RMC’s former Mayor Sunil Soni, former Speaker Ratan Daga, Food, Public Health and Sanitation president Govind Mishra, several BJP workers, corporators and local residents.

 
Rs 905 crore approved

Chief Minister Raman Singh has approved Rs 905 crore for nine different irrigation projects in the state. The fund will be used in - construction of two barrages and two anicuts in Janjgir-Champa, one reservoir project each in Durg and Rajnandgaon, anicut and diversion project in Raipur, construction of one barrage in Kabirdham and one diversion scheme in Kanker. These projects will facilitate irrigation in 5400 hectares of crop area apart from conserving ground water and providing ample water to the industries. The Water Resources Department (WRD) has issued its administrative approval from Mantralaya pertaining to all these projects. The WRD Minister Hemchand Yadav has directed the officials to quickly commence all the projects and complete them in the given timeframe.


Tribute to Shyamacharan Shukla

RMC’s Cultural department will pay tribute to former Chief Minister of undivided Madhya Pradesh late Shyamacharan Shukla on February 14, 2010 at 9.30 am at Mahadev Ghat.
